Generic term for various procedures by which a pre-determined minimum number of Swiss citizens who are eligible to vote may make a request in the form of a general proposal or of a specific draft of the provisions that an amendment be made to the Constitution, or by which a canton or any member of the Federal Assembly, a parliamentary group or committee proposes a Federal Assembly bill or the fundamental elements of such a bill.

Terme générique qui désigne différentes procédures par lesquelles un nombre déterminé de citoyens et citoyennes suisses ayant le droit de vote demandent, sous forme rédigée ou conçue en termes généraux, une modification de la Constitution, ou un canton, un membre de l'Assemblée fédérale, un groupe ou une commission parlementaire peuvent déposer un projet d'acte législatif auprès de l'instance compétente ou les grandes lignes d'un tel projet.

Termine generico che designa diversi procedimenti con cui un numero minimo prestabilito di aventi diritto di voto possono chiedere, in termini generali o con un progetto già elaborato, una modifica della Costituzione federale oppure con cui un Cantone, un membro dell'Assemblea federale, un gruppo parlamentare o una commissione parlamentare propone un progetto di atto normativo dell'Assemblea federale o semplicemente i lineamenti di un simile atto.
