This is the term used in the 'Competency Model' of the Swiss Federal Administration (English translation published by the Federal Office of Personnel) and the FDFA's version of this model, the 'Competencies Catalogue'. Please prefer this term in translations in the area of human resources aimed at FDFA staff. In other contexts 'professional competencies' might not be the best translation of 'Fachkompetenzen'.
