Term Note
Swiss foreign policy uses a strategy cascading process on three levels which combine an overall strategy with more detailed geographic and thematic strategies that feed into operational approaches within the various departments. When written lower case, 'Swiss foreign policy' can refer generically to all strategies that guide Switzerland's foreign policy (see comment in German entry). Write upper case when referring to a specific policy. In French the names of the strategy documents are always lower case in running text.
