Im Mittelpunkt von MbO (Management by Objectives) – Führen mit Zielen steht die Ausrichtung der Organisationseinheiten an konkreten Aufgaben und Zielvorgaben. Ausgehend von den Zielen und Vorgaben der obersten Führungsstufe werden Ziele und Aufgaben kaskadenförmig auf die verschiedenen Hierarchieebenen heruntergebrochen.

The aim of Management by Objectives (MbO) is to focus all organisational units, from the top down, on specific objectives and tasks until these penetrate every level of the hierarchy.

L’MbO («Management by Objectives»), ovvero la gestione per obiettivi, presuppone un orientamento delle unità organizzative a compiti e obiettivi concreti. Partendo dagli obiettivi e dagli standard del livello direttivo più elevato, nel quadro di un processo a cascata si procede alla definizione degli obiettivi e degli standard dei vari livelli gerarchici.
