La combustione avviene sulle due griglie mobili, inclinate di 14° rispetto all’orizzontale, dotate di gradini fissi e mobili alternati il cui movimento assicura che tutto il materiale sia sottoposto al processo di combustione. L’aria di combustione viene distribuita al di sotto della griglia come aria primaria ed anche insufflata nel focolare al di sopra della griglia come aria secondaria.
