Linguistic Context
Hackgutkessel, auch Hackschnitzelheizung genannt, werden mit Biomasse in Form von Holzhackschnitzeln betrieben. Holzhackschnitzel sind dabei schlicht Restholz. Dieses wird durch die Verwertung von Baum-Verschnitten, nicht mehr zu verwendbaren Nutzhölzern und Windbrüchen hergestellt. Weil Holz bei seiner Verbrennung genau so viel Kohlenstoffdioxid freigibt, wie er zuvor absorbiert hat, spricht man bei Holzheizungen wie einem Hackgutkessel von einer CO2-neutralen Heizmethode.
