Ein positiver Strahlungsantrieb, wie ihn zunehmende Treibhausgas-Konzentrationen verursachen, erwärmt tendenziell die Erdoberfläche. Ein negativer Strahlungsantrieb, wie er aus der Zunahme von gewissen Aerosolen (mikroskopischen Luftpartikeln) hervorgehen kann, hat tendenziell eine abkühlende Wirkung.
Linguistic Context
On appelle forçage radiatif (Wm-2) du système climatique toute variation de l’énergie transmise à l’ensemble du système Terre atmosphère, causée par des changements des facteurs de forçage. Il s'agit donc de la différence entre l'énergie radiative reçue et l'énergie radiative émise par un système climatique donné. Positif (plus d’énergie reçue qu’émise), il tend à réchauffer le système. Négatif (plus d'énergie émise que reçue), il tend vers un refroidissement. Il constitue un indice des incidences moyennes relatives à l’échelle du globe de ce changement imputable à diverses causes naturelles et anthropiques sur le système surface-troposphère.
