Linguistic Context
​Die Probleme der Änderungen des regionalen Klimas und der sich daraus ergebenden Wechselwirkungen "Klima-Ökosysteme-Naturkatastrophen-Gesellschaft" bildeten die Leitlinie des Nationalen Forschungsprogramms "Klimaänderungen und Naturkatastrophen" (NFP 31). Es sollte unser Verständnis über das Verhalten der Umwelt bei plötzlich auftretenden kurzfristigen Witterungsereignissen und bei langfristigeren Klimaänderungen erweitern sowie Reaktionsmöglichkeiten und Massnahmen des politischen und gesellschaftlichen Systems prüfen.

​Les problèmes propres aux changements climatiques et aux interactions "climat – écosystèmes – catastrophes naturelles – société" constituaient le fil conducteur du programme. La compréhension du comportement de l'environnement lors d'événements météorologiques à court terme ou lors de changements climatiques à long terme a été améliorée. Les aspects économiques, politiques, administratifs et sociologiques ont aussi été pris en considération.
