Das Nationale Forschungsprogramm "Nanowissenschaften" (NFP 36) hatte zum Ziel, lokalisierte molekulare Strukturen und mesoskopische Prozesse auf der Nanometerskala zu erforschen und zu steuern. Es war ein Programm interdisziplinärer Grundlagenforschung und umfasste nicht nur physikalische und chemische, sondern auch biologische beziehungsweise biomolekulare Fragestellungen.
​Le Programme national de recherche "Nanosciences" (PNR 36) avait pour objectif d'analyser et de modifier des structures moléculaires et des processus mésoscopiques localisés à l'échelle du nanomètre. Il s'agissait d'un programme de recherche fondamentale interdisciplinaire, concernant non seulement des problèmes de physique et de chimie, mais aussi de biologie, spécialement de biologie moléculaire.
The aim of the National Research Programme "Nanosciences" (NRP 36) is to research into and control localised molecular structures and mesoscopic processes on the nano scale. The programme involves interdisciplinary basic research and covers not only physical and chemical but also biological and biomolecular questions.
