Tuttavia, l'agricoltura di montagna affronta molteplici sfide, dovute innanzitutto alle condizioni naturali e alle sfide strutturali del territorio alpino, caratterizzato da una limitata disponibilità di terre coltivabili, pendii ripidi che rendono la coltivazione particolarmente impegnativa e scarsità di infrastrutture nelle aree più remote.

Dennoch steht die Berglandwirtschaft vor zahlreichen Herausforderungen, die in erster Linie mit den natürlichen und strukturellen Gegebenheiten der Berggebiete zusammenhängen. Die Alpen sind einerseits von der begrenzten Verfügbarkeit von Ackerland und andererseits von Steillagen, die eine besonders arbeitsintensive Bewirtschaftung verlangen, sowie von einer spärlichen Infrastruktur in entlegeneren Gebieten geprägt.
