I modelli fenologici permettono di stimare l'evoluzione del ciclo di sviluppo delle colture utilizzando le informazioni meteorologiche - in genere molto diffuse sul territorio - per integrare le informazioni fenologiche spesso troppo discontinue nel tempo e nello spazio o addirittura inesistenti.
