Das Fideikommiss ist eine Rechtsfigur des Erbrechts, bei der ein Vermögenskomplex nach vorgegebener Erbfolge unveräusserlich mit einer Familie verbunden wird, um die Besitzzersplitterung durch Erbteilung zu verhindern. Besonders verbreitet war die Errichtung von Fideikommissen im 17. und 18. Jh.
