Das NFP 72 will mit einem ganzheitlichen, disziplinenübergreifenden One-Health-Ansatz einen Beitrag zur Verringerung der antimikrobiellen Resistenz leisten und dadurch Komplikationen bei der Behandlung von Infektionskrankheiten vermeiden. Dazu sollen die Kenntnisse über mögliche Ursprungsorte von Resistenzgenen und deren Übertragungsmechanismen verbessert, neue Schnelldiagnosetechniken entwickelt, neuartige antimikrobielle Moleküle erforscht sowie Interventionsmassnahmen vorgeschlagen werden.

Par une approche globale et interdisciplinaire One Health (une seule santé), le PNR 72 doit contribuer à réduire la résistance aux antimicrobiens et les complications lors du traitement des maladies infectieuses. Il s’agit d’approfondir les connaissances sur les sources potentielles de gènes de résistance et sur leurs mécanismes de transmission, de mettre au point des techniques de diagnostic rapide, de découvrir de nouvelles molécules antimicrobiennes et de proposer des mesures d’intervention.

With its holistic and interdisciplinary one-health approach, NRP 72 aims to contribute to reducing antimicrobial resistance and complications in treating infectious diseases. The research programme is expected to increase our knowledge about the origin of resistance genes and their distribution mechanisms, develop swift diagnostic tools, analyses new antimicrobial molecules and propose intervention measures.
